Jason Hastie signed to Southbound Records & Entertainment One
For immediate release:
Toronto, ON / Calgary, AB (September 4, 2013) - When Jason Hastie's manager, Casadie Pederson, got a call from Eric Alper, Director of Media Relations and Label Acquisitions with Entertainment One Music Canada (eOne), she knew it was going to be a good day. Chatting with Casadie, Eric explained that eOne had been following the climb of Jason's music career and was interested in becoming a part of Jason’s future development. As a result, Southbound Records Inc., Canada’s newest record label, headed by Casadie, and eOne Music Canada, have penned a deal.
Casadie Pederson, President of Southbound Records Inc. says, “When eOne got in touch with me about distributing Jason Hastie, I was thrilled to say the least. I knew after that call that this was the distributor to launch my label and I look forward to working with the team over at eOne.”
Jason responded to the news, stating, “I had been hearing a lot about eOne Music Canada in the past year. Having a huge company like eOne take notice of my album sales and charting songs is an incredible feeling. They are an international company that is focused on growth and are involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry. The launch of Southbound Records is a monumental development in the Canadian music industry, and I am excited to be the first artist signed to the label. With Southbound Records driving my album direction and the distribution backing of eOne Music, I couldn’t imagine a better fit for where I want to take my career.”
Jason Hastie and The Alibi
Jason Hastie released his first solo album, Turning Point, earlier this year, where it hit #1 on the Canadian country iTunes charts. In 2013 alone, Jason and his band, The Alibi (Joel Fraser - lead guitar, Ray Banman - bass guitar, Kyle Kobylka - drums) have played talked-about shows at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Calgary Stampede, and have done a string of shows partnering with Chevrolet Canada, beginning with the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, AB. Jason's current single “She Ain’t Pretty” recently cracked the Top 50 on the Canadian Mediabase charts. Jason Hastie and The Alibi will begin working on their new album later this fall.
